Sam could be seen asking the panel in a preview. "I suspect not actually, " Germaine replied. "But it's interesting to think, would we still like her if she was 56? And I think we probably wouldn't. RT Germaine Greer slammed Princess Diana in an awkward interview RT Germaine called Princess Diana 'the worst f**k in the country' The death of Princess Diana: The world pays their respects Thu, August 31, 2017 Tributes of photographs, candles and photographs have gathered at the gates of Kensington Palace left by well-wishers and fans of Diana, to mark the 20th anniversary of her death Getty Images 1 of 16 Endless Artist (R) pays tribute to Princess Diana on the 20 year anniversary of her death "We didn't even like the Queen when she was 56, " she added. "We don't like middle-aged women very much. "How would Diana have middle-aged? " Germaine continued, asking: "What would the tally be of the men who had dumped her by that stage? It would be 40 or 50 probably, worst f**k in the county by all accounts. "
Who said this: "An awful lot of husbands enact a diurnal crime on the body of their wives everyday"? And who said this, about 30 years later: "Most rape is just lazy, just careless, insensitive"? It is the same person who says of Beyoncé, "Why is she always gotta be f**king naked and have her tits hanging out? " before saying, about 30 seconds later, of her own celebrity nudity: "I'm not saying you have to keep your clothes on. " The answer – as though you didn't know already – is Germaine Greer, or, as this pop documentary has it, Germaine Bloody Greer (BBC Two, Saturday, 9pm). Even before her groundbreaking The Female Eunuch, the Australian academic and writer had been influential and infuriating in equal measure. And so she remains. These days every public utterance from this second-wave feminist becomes fodder for indignant responses by the third and forth – invariably published under headlines that begin, "No, Germaine Greer! " Vocally dismissive of the revolutionary potential of the MeToo movement, (because, this doc suggests, she has seen the efforts of so many others atrophy) entirely sceptical (and wrong-headed) about the legitimacy of trans identities, Greer provokes passionate censure from progressives because they feel betrayed.
The feminist author and subject of BBC2's documentary Germaine Bloody Greer has recently made controversial comments about the #MeToo movement, trans people and rape Published: Saturday, 9th June 2018 at 8:23 am Germaine Greer has long been a source of controversy, ever since the publication of her feminist text The Female Eunuch almost 50 years ago in 1970. The book, an international bestseller, was incendiary, perhaps less a specific manifesto than a rallying call to women, urging them to take a match to female stereotypes. Yet Greer has also become a source of frustration for many feminists in recent years with controversial comments about #MeToo, trans people and rape. She ignited a online furore after she wrote an article for Radio Times, arguing that women enjoy watching on-screen depictions of sexual violence. Decades after the publication of Greer's seminal text, she remains as divisive as ever, as seen in BBC2's new documentary Germaine Bloody Greer, which airs at 9pm on Saturday 9th June.

The chat, which is set to air on Channel RT UK tonight, sees the outspoken author blasting Princess Diana 's legacy as a role model. "If Diana was still alive today, would she just be one of these people eating kangaroo penis on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!? "
