Hello. So, this is going to be a wall of text sort of, but I want to lay out my full situation, and get any and all advice I can from you all. Essentially, I'm looking to not waste any time going forward, and want to get moving on everything as soon as I get my cert. Here's my situation: I'm about halfway through the NASM CPT prep. I'm taking the self study and moving along at about the rate I thought I would. If i continue to go at this rate, I should be able to take (and pass) my exam in early/mid April. I want to get to work as soon as possible and want to make sure that, even while I'm prepping, I'm not wasting any time. My goal, once I get that cert, is to relocate to Arizona to start working, preferably the Maricopa County area (I'm currently in the midwest), but I would also consider Tuscon. I'm really willing to work anywhere/do anything that puts my certification and training to use and that makes enough to support myself in a one bedroom apartment. Gyms, training facilities, colleges, camps, group classes, workshops, athlete support, training assistant, specific fitness designs (like, just working flexibility or cardio training) whatever.

This is why interpersonal skills are essential even if you do a technical job. Example: "I believe both skills are vital to delivering a satisfactory experience to users. You must have the requisite technical expertise to solve people's IT problems in an effective and timely fashion so productivity does not suffer. However, interpersonal skills are the basis of all relationships. Actively listening, effective communication and empathy are some skills one needs to start and maintain rapport with users. "

I asked if he has perhaps taken a look at my GitHub portfolio / the projects I've done and whether he thinks my code is on par with their requirements, but he straight up told me that he doesn't judge by GitHub portfolios, because he can never know if I've actually written the code, or just copied it from somewhere. This sounded a bit weird to me because I think he could easily weed out people who have plagiarized the code, just by asking a couple of questions about it. He then asked me exactly what kind of environment am I looking for, and I wasn't quite sure what he was referring to, so I asked for clarification. He said that he was curious whether am I looking for a big outsourcing company with 5000+ people or a close-knit family start-up product company. I told him I genuinely wouldn't know because I'm quite green to begin with, so he started telling me about the differences. At one point he said "Is there anyone around you listening to this conversation? ", which seemed extremely weird to me, but I said "No", and as soon as I did, he started telling me how his opinion is that people in outsourcing companies are just selling their asses, working the bare minimum and are being tempted by trivial activities, such as team building events and fancy stuff like that, whereas people in product companies are always working hard because they're invested in and take ownership of the product they're working on.
