We all have demons we are fighting and have been fighting our whole lives, we did not have a supportive family, everything was buried under the rug instead of providing help and that made us grow up disconnected from reality, from what is proper, and from what is healthy. Some of us have learnt better thanks to our wives, jobs, and life experience, all of us have a lot to learn still, but we cannot change the past, just own up to our mistakes and faults and try to be better tomorrow. " •Miscellaneous: A few random things that popped up: -Why did no one check on the cat before? We didn't have a reason to. Sunny (the cat) was not particularly social so when they videocalled during quarantine it made sense not to see her. We didn't go visit anyone during the pandemic so we didn't know the state his things were going to be in, and before the pandemic he was fine, his house was fine and the cat was fine. I don't know how we were supposed to know any of this was happening to go check on the cat or how we could have prevented it from happening.

I'm 11 years into my IT career with the last year being spent in K12. I haven't been here long but my district is completely ate up and the position isn't quite what I had in mind. I "manage" the infrastructure and sometimes I lay awake worrying about how f*cked we will be when we inevitably get ransomwared. My biggest gripes are with the unions and my director. Since they only promote internally most of our leaders are teachers and there's virtually no enterprise expirience in the IT department. My hours are good and my salary is decent, but I'm constantly butting heads with leadership trying to correct our bad practices. All users are local administrators, district computers are treated like personal computers, no concept of security, flat network with no segmentation, no authentication or encryption in our WLAN etc. It's bad. Recently I've been courted for a new position and it seems that I was one of finalists. After 2 phone interviews I am meeting the CIO for a local bank and likely some of the IT staff for an in person interview.

In an exclusive interview, Yusuf Islam, the renowned musician formerly known as Cat Stevens, talks about his first book, the spiritual memoir Why I Still Carry a Guitar, and his forthcoming album. Yusuf Islam, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April, says his book explains the actions and decisions he 'made in real life'. Courtesy Yusuf Islam The eminent musician and humanitarian Yusuf Islam – previously known as Cat Stevens – has returned to the spotlight with a project that is perhaps his most personal work to date. In his first book, Why I Still Carry a Guitar, the 66-year-old speaks – powerfully and with some dry humour – of his spiritual journey since converting to Islam in 1977, and tackling the many misconceptions that came along the way. "There have been too many myths circulating for a long time and I felt it was time to put a few of them to bed, " he says. "I hope to write a more comprehensive autobiography in the future – inshallah. Till then, this book will certainly fill the gap. "
